about

This album is horror rock fantasy about a gunslinger’s descent into hell.

released December 3, 2015

Blackletter’s first EP, “Digital Vinyl-Station15” was released in the winter of 2015 to local praise:

“Laros’ lyrics throughout Digital Vinyl succeed in both telling the story and being good lyrics in a rock ‘n’ roll song – a feat not easily accomplished by any means. Vic Foley adds swagger with his guitar shredding on “Six Seconds,” “Wasteland” and “Hell Hath Fury.” The closing “Hell Hath Fury is intense like a prog-rock version of Metallica’s ‘Unforgiven’ with a Nine Inch Nails bridge and a piano outré.” –Marc Clarkin of Motif Magazine.

Blackletter was a 2015 WBRU Rock Hunt finalist and appeared that year on BRU’s Home BRU’d. In 2016, they were featured on WHJY, Boston Rock Radio and internationally on German and Australian radio. Blackletter has shared the stage with the Giraffes of Brooklyn and the Ghost Wolves of Austin, TX. They recently toured around New York and Boston to rave reviews and just in October 2017 released their anticipated new single "Spyder" on WBRU. They regularly play The Met, Jimmy’s Saloon in Newport, Ralph’s Rock Diner in Worcester and Boston venues such as Charlie’s Kitchen, Club Bohemia and Midway Cafe. Their original brand of "apocalyptic rock" is gaining more followers and fans are bedazzled by their live performances.

Little known fact: Blackletter’s lead vocalist was once likened by a bewildered fan to “a duke proclaiming from a mountaintop.”
